Upchurch Scientific® Peristaltic Tubing Connectors have been designed to help scientists more conveniently employ the use of softer, peristaltic-style tubing in laboratory applications.
Conical Adapters
• Direct-connects 1/16" and 1/8" OD tubing to flexible tubing
• Accepts .020"-.030", 1/16", 3/32" and 1/8" ID flexible tubing
• Eliminates excessive pulling and cutting to remove flexible tubing from barbed adapters
• Biocompatible flow path with excellent solvent compatibility
To facilitate connecting standard 1/16" and 1/8" OD tubing with flexible (peristaltic) tubing, Upchurch Scientific created the Conical Adapter. This product consists of a special PEEK™ polymer female nut, our Super Flangeless™ ferrule system and a Tefzel® (ETFE) or PEEK conical adapter body. The design provides a reliable connection between harder tubing materials (such as FEP, PFA, ETFE, PEEK and Stainless Steel) and peristaltic-type tubing, such as Tygon® and PharMed®.
The coned end of this adapter allows an easier connection than conventional barbed adapters. Flexible tubing slides on easier due to the narrower profile of the Conical Adapter's cone. Flexible tubing is also easier to remove since no cutting or excessive pulling is required.
