With one the Upchurch Scientific® guard columns between the injection valve and column in your HPLC system, you can extend the life of your analytical column while helping ensure reproducible results. Convenient, prepacked PEEK™ polymer cartridges complete the system. These cartridges are available in a variety of bonded phases to match your column chemistry. Each is slurry packed with 5 um or 10 um base-deactivated, 80A spherical silica – yielding a much higher quality product than can be achieved through dry packing.

We engineered our C-270 Stainless Steel Guard Column Holder for high pressure applications (up to 4,000 psi / 276 bar). We surface treat each holder to prevent galling, a kind of “cold welding” often occurring when threaded parts of the same metal are over tightened. The Tefzel® C-283 Holder is designed for low pressure systems (&le 1,000 psi / 69 bar), such as DNA sequencers.

The flow path of both the C-270 and C-283 is biocompatible. Each comes complete with fittings for 1/16" OD tubing and can be used with any of the guard column cartridges listed in “Family Parts.”
